Effective Speaker and Leader

Experienced in public education and a serving member of the community

Former Houston ISD School Board Trustee District III Secretary

Dr. Sergio Lira

I am a public speaker specializing in public education, corporate culture, and community advocacy. My field of expertise is urban education in public schools. I earned a doctorate in Urban Educational Policy from the University of Houston. I served as Assistant Principal at two public high schools and later as a Board Member for the Houston Independent School district.

For over three decades I have served my community in many capacities. I served on several boards American Leadership Forum (ALF), and Bike for Excellence, President of Houston LULAC, The Alley Theater Zocalo, Chair of LULAC Redistricting Task Force, graduate of the FBI citizens academy. I founded the Timonel Foundation to award annual scholarships to students active in their parishes or church community.  I served two terms as parish council president at Queen of Peace Catholic Church.

These experiences have shaped my perspective. I understand the strategies required to build environments that foster growth, meaningful dialogue, and  change. My training approach emphasizes two-way communication and building positive relationships in the classroom, workplace, and community spaces.
